Teaching

I teach medieval history across the period 1000 – 1550, with particular expertise in late medieval English history – but I am very comfortable teaching across borders and centuries! I also regularly teach historiography and research and writing skills to students of all periods. I have extensive experience as a teacher of both undergraduates and postgraduates, and as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy have proved I meet the criteria for Descriptor 2 (D2) of the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF) for teaching and supporting learning in higher education.

At the University of Northampton I am module leader for the following:

HIS1024, The Medieval World 1200 – 1500

HIS2028, Dissertation Skills

HIS2030, Medieval Chivalry and its Afterlives

HIS3037, The Wars of the Roses

I am very interested in hearing from prospective PhD students; my university contact details are listed here.

I am also a tutor for the University of Oxford’s Continuing Education department. I currently teach their Wars of the Roses online course.
